A Post of the Books.

Hello!
I'm here, I know it seems like a fell off the face of the earth but in reality I have been super busy with homework, work, and a couple huge projects like painting our house!

Yep, you heard it here, we painted our house from a yellow faded color to a tanish-brownish-color. It's called Warm Bank by Valspar if that helps at all.. probably doesn't.  We also touched up the dark brown trim with the color called.. Hallow Cavern by Valspar.

We pulled out ladders, and brushes. 6 gallons of paint and rollers.. and plastic cups to carry paint around for touching up the spots that the roller couldn't get.  Our cat Percy even hung out with us for a while and I made few new frog friends.. and one snake.. plus several spiders met their match.

Boy, does it look better. I don't think the picture does it justice cause you can't really see how much it improved it up close. But here is a before and after I put together.

Big difference right? Almost looks like new siding even. We just have a little bit left in the back of the house which you can't see anyways. Now next up is to repaint all the trim around the windows. I'll be painting the trim white along with the inside lining of, currently brown, white too. So that'll change up even more.

Even better news. We bought ourselves a new door. SO EXCITING! It's a French Patio Door that opens into the house. From the picture above it'll open inward on the left side. I'm super excited for it.

Want a picture? No? Too bad.

Yes. It has built-in blinds even too!  Now I just have to pick out a door know and dead-bolt.

A very likely option for a handle and dead bolt!  No more of this actually knob nonsense for our amazing patio door.

We also need ideas for wide trim too.  Our current door measures 7 feet tall by six and half foot wide and guess what. No one makes doors that size anymore! This door, got into the house through that door. How crazy is that?

Side story on our current door. As I was opening it for the first time in months since I put it out of commission, it fell out! It fell on me knocking me down! I held it up and yelled for Trav to help me with it. How insane is that? I large gust of wind could blow it out and we'd have a huge gap. So just in time we have a door, not put in yet, it's currently shoved into our back room along with every thing else we don't have a place for. My dad is going to put it in for us and build the door opening down to fit the above door.

Back to trim ideas here is an idea I found (keep in mind it's just the trim part)

I really like that for the outside. The top especially.

Inside I'm think something like this. . .

or

I really like the second. I like the idea of the squares! So it's still in the air, but it's in the works instead of just thinking about it.. if that makes sense. I think wide trim will be great, I'll keep you updated.

I have also been pinning and pinning ideas of stuff I can do myself.. especially with my sewing machine.
I found this little cute thing on Pinterest which I will be making as soon as I get to a JoAnn's...

And these out of an old sweatshirt and a pair of flats...

And to make this pillow

I just need fabric and time.. I must have more time!

So if any of you know how to avoid dishes.. and laundry.. and homework.. and put more time in a day I'd love to hear it!

Well I think that brings you up to date. Unless I didn't post the we got a new horse.. in that case..

We got a new horse. Her name is Holly and here is a picture!

She is an Appaloosa mare and she is awesome. I really like her and feel I can learn a lot of technique for riding from her too.
